Much loved, multi-awarded singer songwriter, Sara Storer, returns to the Territory in celebration of her latest album, “Raindance”, with performances at the Freedom Day Concert in Kalkarindgi, Katherine Outback Experience and Pint Club Darwin in August.
Sara relocated to the Mallee after the launch of her previous album, “Love Grass”, at Fannie Bay Gaol in 2013 (a fundraiser for Parap Pre-School), and now resides on a rural property outside of Albury with husband Dave and four boys.
The land and an empathetic understanding of hardships affecting every day rural life inspired Sara to write the title track, after viewing a family lifting community spirits by dancing and laughing on a dry riverbed.
This concert will also showcase reflections about those close to her, the men in her life of all ages whether it’s her precious children, her brothers who go fishing in times of drought and her beloved partner, who brings the calm to the chaos of nurturing rough and tumble children.
Tragedy and triumphant events which have affected those around her and a tribute to the Burrumbuttock Hay Farmers, will also be brought to the stage when “Raindance” has its Territory debut.
Special guest in Katherine & Darwin is Tom Curtain who has written his journey through songs which feature on the #1 album, “Territory Time”. An Ambassador for the Dolly’s Dream campaign, Tom was inspired to write “Speak Up”, in Amy “Dolly” Everett’s memory to raise awareness about bullying, and recorded this tribute as a duet with Sara.
Tom owns Katherine Outback Experience and trains horses and working dogs. He is also the recipient of multiple Golden Guitars and last year’s Independent Artist, Male Artist, Album and Single of the Year winner at the Southern Stars Australian Independent Country Music Awards in Mildura.
A local children’s choir will join Sara and Tom to perform “Speak Up” at both shows.
Don’t miss Sara Storer and Band in concert this August on the Raindance NT Tour performing live at Katherine Outback Experience on Saturday 24 August 2019 from 7:00pm.
