Is the event pet-friendly?
Unfortunately, the Tom Curtain tour is not pet-friendly. Dogs are not permitted due to horses, working dogs, and goats performing in the arena. We have had incidents in the past with dogs running into the arena during the show. Guide dogs are always welcome. If you do bring a dog, please keep them in your vehicle in the shade with access to water.
What’s the show schedule?
Gates open, followed 30 minutes later by support act Laura Frank (30 min), then the Outback Show (1 hour), then Chris Matthews and Mel Fraser (30 min), then Tom Curtain supported by all artists (1 hour). The event closes 30 minutes after the show concludes. You will receive a confirmation email with the specific start time before the event.
Do you accept Companion / Carers cards?
Yes, Companion/Carer’s Cards are accepted free of charge. Select the Companion Card option in the booking cart and present the card at entry. We accept a maximum of two companions per guest unless prior permission is granted.
Are food and drinks available?
Generally yes. We will send a confirmation email in the days before the event with details on food, drinks, and whether EFTPOS is accepted. Every venue is different and arrangements can change at short notice, so check your email before attending.
Do you cater for specific dietary needs?
Most of our shows are supported by local volunteer and fundraising groups who may not be able to cater for specific dietary needs. Guests are welcome to bring a picnic, but we do ask that you also support the local fundraisers. Unless advised otherwise, no alcohol or glass is permitted.
How can we recommend a venue for the future?
Visit the Katherine Outback Experience links page and follow the prompts. Include as much detail as possible: hire fees, toilets, power access, lighting, and capacity. This helps us assess venues when planning future tours.
How can we get involved with promoting shows locally?
Visit the Katherine Outback Experience links page and select your town to download a digital poster. Share it on local social media, email it to businesses, or print and distribute it locally. Word of mouth is also one of the best ways people find out about us.
Do we need to bring a chair?
Yes, most venues do not have seating. We encourage guests to bring their own chair and sit as close as possible to the Outback Show arena. A blanket or cushion also works well.
Is the show venue wheelchair accessible?
Accessibility varies by venue as we tour many different locations across Australia. We encourage guests to contact the specific venue directly about their needs. If you have trouble reaching the venue, email [email protected] and we will help find the information.
Can we bring alcohol?
If a licensed bar is operating at the venue, BYO alcohol is not permitted. If there is no bar, we will advise guests prior to the event whether BYO is allowed. Unless told otherwise, no alcohol or glass is to be brought in.
Is camping available?
Camping availability varies by venue. Contact the specific venue directly to enquire. If you have difficulty reaching the venue, email [email protected] and the team will assist.
Do we need to book a Child ticket if children are free?
Yes, free Child tickets must still be booked. This helps us manage space allocation and catering numbers. Some venues also have guest capacity limits, so all attendees including children need to be ticketed.
Can we get tickets at the door?
