At the Wonthaggi event of the “Why We Live Out Here” Tom Curtain and his team ventured to a stunning part of the world they had yet to explore. The community welcomed them warmly, reveling in the vibrant atmosphere as Tom introduced the audience to his famed Katherine Outback Experience. The energetic crowd enjoyed performances not just by Tom and his crew but also impromptu demonstrations of local skill by expert whip crackers. We’d like to give a special shout out to Lachlan for his impressive display! Whip cracking wasn’t the only chance for the audience to get involved – the kids all jumped at the chance to help train the dogs and horses but the highlight had to be the Territory wave and worm races. The event was a perfect blend of local flair and Tom’s spirited outback showcase, making for a memorable day where music, fun, and community spirit came together under the Wonthaggi sky. Tom along with fellow Australian country music icons Laura Frank, Chris Matthews and Mel Fraser finished up the event playing their much loved songs with much of the audience joining in to dance the evening away.
