2023/24 Tour Recap: Maffra, VIC

As late in the season as it was, the Maffra event of the “Why We Live Out Here” actually had to be delayed slightly due to the heat! On what may have been the last truly warm Sunday afternoon before Autumn set in, the event found its rhythm as the sun ducked behind clouds, allowing the attendees to comfortably enjoy the performances under the impressive dome structure at the local grounds. The atmosphere was one of relaxation and community spirit, as people of all ages gathered to relish the laid-back session. After an impressive demonstration of Tom’s skills in training working dogs, horses and even goats he took to the stage along with Australian country music stars Laura Frank, Chris Matthews and Mel Fraser for a superb musical afternoon session. The crowd, and especially the kids loved it as they were invited to join in several times to help train the dogs and horses. It was a memorable afternoon that gave all present a true feel of the spirit of the outback.
